The Legal Bits

As with all things these days, King Street Dental Practice is governed and regulated by various authorities and we are legally bound to inform you of our legal obligations and the various policies we have in place.

To save you clicking around all over the site, we have gathered these details all on one page, so read on!

Telephone Reminders
To help patients remember their appointments we like to operate a telephone reminder system. The reception team will telephone you to remind you of the date & time of your appointment, so please inform our reception team if you are happy to receive telephone reminders and that we have up-to-date telephone numbers. Please also confirm with our reception team if you are happy for messages to be left on answerphones/voicemails or with someone who answers your telephone on your behalf, should the need arise.
Text reminders are sent to our deaf patients.

Late Cancellation / Failed Appointments
Charges may be applied for late cancellation/failed appointments. This is soley at the discretion of the dentist.

It is always King Street Dental Practice’s aim to provide the best possible professional care and service to all of our patients, therefore we take any complaints very seriously.

Should you have a concern or complaint, we would like to hear from you as soon as possible. We will do our best to listen and resolve your concern as quickly as possible. You are welcome to speak to your dentist, any member of our team, or you may wish to contact the Practice Owner, Dr Elaine Weaver, direct on 01256 703251. If you would prefer not to speak with a member of the team in person, please write to us or send us an email – our contact details are at the bottom of this page.

If you would feel more comfortable speaking with someone who is not a member of our Practice, you can email NHS England at england.contactus@nhs.net. Please ensure that you state “For the Attention of the Complaints Manager” in the subject line.

If for any reason you are not happy with the outcome, you can refer the matter to the Parliamentary & Health Ombudsman (who is independent of the NHS and the Government) at Millbank Tower, Millbank, London SW1P 4QP. You can also call the Ombudsman on 0345 015 4033 or if you have a problem with your hearing or speech, please use textphone (minicom) 0300 0614298.

If you would prefer to speak with someone that is not a member of our Practice, you can contact the Dental Complaints Service on 08456 120 540 (Monday – Friday between 9am and 5pm) or complete the complaints form on their website.
