Meet the King Street team ...

Elaine Weaver
Elaine qualified from the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel in 1995 and in 2006, she completed a post-graduate course in Orthodontics (BUOLD, Bristol University).
Elaine joined King Street Dental Practice in 1999, became a co-owner in 2002, and sole owner in 2013. She also provides orthodontic treatment at Basingstoke Hospital as a Clinical Assistant, working with and on behalf of the consultant orthodontists.
Elaine enjoys all aspects of General Dental Practice and cares a great deal about her patients. She strives to build and maintain a happy, relaxed, and communicative relationship with her patients, especially with those who are particularly anxious with dental treatment.
In order to keep up to date with advancements within the dental profession, Elaine attends numerous post-graduate courses, often exceeding the General Dental Council minimum requirements for Continued Professional Development.

Gursharan Minhas
Gursharan first qualified as a dentist at St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospitals’ School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1998 and later as an Orthodontic specialist.
After three years of orthodontic specialist training at Guy’s & Kings Hospital from 2001 to 2004, Gursharan followed this with a further 2 years of senior registrar training at The Royal Surrey and Eastman Dental Hospitals to accredit as an NHS consultant. Gursharan has been working as an NHS Consultant Orthodontist at the Royal Surrey County Hospital Foundation Trust since 2007. She also holds a degree in Psychology, an area in which she holds a special interest.
She has been an Orthodontic Specialist for over 20 years and has treated many adults and children, from cases requiring simple alignment to severe jaw discrepancies requiring more complex care. She is keen to use the latest materials and techniques, keeping up to date with innovations and evidence-based research. Her personal commitment is to provide high quality care for all her patients in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Gursharan is involved in teaching, training and examining orthodontic trainees to consultant level and supervision and publication of masters theses.

Jacob d'Souza
Jacob is the latest to join our specialist team and undertook his Oral and Maxillofacial training in the UK and his Head and Neck Fellowship in Sydney.
Jacob has publications in a variety of peer-reviewed journals and is actively involved in training of under-graduate students.
He regularly participates in national and international conferences to keep-up-to-date in the practice of evidence based medicine.

Fawad Amin
Having graduated from Bristol University, Fawad took training roles in oral surgery and restorative dentistry, developing an interest in endodontics (root canal treatment).
Since gaining his Masters in Endodontics from the Eastman Dental Hospital, Fawad is an active member of the British Endodontic Society, the European Society of Endodontology and the American Association of Endodontics.
As well as King Street, Fawad works in multiple practices in and around Hampshire, where he has limited his work to endodontics and treats cases referred to him – we accept external referrals from other dental practices for his skills and expertise.

Nick Lewis
Nick graduated with Honours in Newcastle in 2001 before commencing General Professional Training in the North-East of England, followed by various house officer posts and time in general practice.
Nick completed his Membership examination at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and then went on to undertake hospital posts in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery at University College London Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. He completed his higher specialist training in Restorative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London when he also completed a Masters degree in Conservative dentistry in 2006.
Nick obtained the intercollegiate specialty fellowship examination in Restorative Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2008 as was appointed as a full time Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the Eastman in 2009 and then he was clinical lead in Prosthodontics at the Eastman from 2010-2014.
He was appointed as a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at The Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford in 2016 with a sub-speciality interest in maxillofacial prosthodontics and the dental management of head and neck cancer patients.
He is now predominantly based at the Royal Surrey in his NHS Consultant role and maintains a teaching commitment as a Clinical Lecturer at the Eastman. Nick is currently the Clinical Director of Maxillofacial surgery, Orthodontics & Restorative Dentistry at the Royal Surrey Hospital, Guildford.

Rebecca Anderson
Rebecca graduated from University of Leeds with a distinction in her MChD/BChD integrated masters. She then worked for a year establishing her skills in practice during foundation training in West London.
Following this she has undergone further training completing 2 years of dental core training in hospital settings, gaining experience in specialist areas. She did a 6month rotation of oral surgery at Kingston hospital, a 6month rotation of paediatrics and orthodontics at St George’s hospital and a year of Oral and maxillofacial surgery at Royal Surrey County Hospital.
Rebecca is completing her training to provide sedation for patients and has a special interest in oral surgery, providing surgical procedures on a private basis within the practice. Rebecca intends to continue developing her oral surgery skills and providing a calming and supportive environment for all her patients to provide treatment as comfortably as possible.

Caroline Buckland
Caroline qualified at Bristol University in 2003 & joined the King Street practice in July 2021 after some time spent working in Cambridgeshire, Fleet, Kingsclere and Sandhurst.
Caroline enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and finds treating nervous patients particularly rewarding as gaining their trust and helping them to overcome their phobias can enable them to benefit from lifelong dentistry and improve their confidence.
She also has a keen interest in restorative treatments using composite dental materials to rebuild teeth. She attends regular seminars and courses to maintain a high level of skill and knowledge.
When she’s not at work she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children and has a passion for travel, baking, music and long walks.

Supriya Gurung
Dr. Gurung is a skilled and dedicated dentist who has been providing high quality dental care since graduating in 2016. She is known for a gentle but thorough approach to ensure both comfort and excellent results.
With a strong focus on patient comfort and personalised treatment, Dr. Gurung is committed to helping individuals maintain optimal oral health through a wide range of general and cosmetic dental services.
Focused on creating a calm and welcoming environment Dr Gurung provides personalised treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs which ensures patients receive the best care for healthy, lasting smile.

Tasnim Shamim
Following her graduation, Tasnim gained valuable experience as a foundation dentist in Essex where she honed her clinical skills and developed a strong patient -centred approach. She further expanded her expertise by working as a senior house officer in the oral and maxillofacial department in Northampton General Hospital.
In 2023 Dr Shamim has achieved MFDS qualification with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Tasnim is committed to providing her patients with personalised treatment plans tailored to their individual needs.

Nicola Bailey
Yorkshire-born Nicola qualified as a dental hygienist from Sheffield (Charles Clifford) Dental Hospital in 1991 and is also qualified to administer local anaesthetics. She has worked here since 1997.

Karen Lee
Karen qualified in 1989 at Cardiff University Hospital and has been here for over 10 years, where she takes pride in developing a working relationship with patients and putting nervous patients at ease.

Jill Catto
Jill qualified as a hygienist in London in 1995 and originally joined King Street in 1996 and after some time living abroad, she rejoined the team in May 2019. Jill’s caring approach is well-suited to anxious patients.

Leigh Purdie
Leigh has been nursing for over 20 years and has been part of the King Street team for 12 years. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and especially helping patients maintain their smiles.

Angela Shutt
Angela qualified as a dental nurse in 2002 and was with a practice in the north east until moving to Hampshire in 2015. She has a vast knowledge of the policies and procedures within NHS & Private dentistry.

Doma Tamang
Doma has been a registered nurse since 2019 and covers all surgeries as well as reception. She has also gained additional qualifications in implant nursing and works alongside our specialist surgeon/implantologist.

Andrea Abram
Andrea is a qualified dental nurse who is extremely caring and always takes into consideration the individual needs of her patients. Andrea is very focussed on providing the highest service and care.

Kripa Thapa
Kripa started her dental career in 2019 as a trainee at a practice in Whitchurch (Hants) where she gained invaluable knowledge and experience. She qualified in January 2021 and joined King St in late 2022.

Debbie Holloway
Debbie has been a dental nurse for over 10 years and qualified in 2008. She especially likes to look after some of our more nervous patients, helping them to feel at ease during their treatment.

Sue Walker
Susan has been a member of the King Street team for over 17 years and is our Practice Co-Ordinator. Susan also works on our compliance with the various Care Quality Commission policies.

Sharon Chapman
Sharon joined the reception team at King Street in 2023 after working at a local primary school for 24 years as admin assistant. She enjoys meeting the patients and ensuring an efficient running of their appointments.

Amy Tedman
Amy joined King Street in May 2024 having previously worked at a dental practice in Basingstoke for 5 years. Amy enjoys meeting new people and ensuring their patient journey is a smooth pleasurable experience.
